POP-UP NEW YORK: 3D TOUR FOR CHILDREN
Today we continue our series of travel books for children, and from Paris we head to New York in a 3D tour of the Big Apple!
Pop-up New York is a beautiful travel book (ages 5+) written and illustrated by Jennie Maizels. She studied illustration at the Central St. Martin’s School of Art and Design and is best known for her groundbreaking, fun non-fiction books for children, such as The Great Grammar Book and The Perfect Punctuation book.
My kids were relatively small when we traveled to New York, and I have found that reading with them about Pop-up New York is not only entertaining but also a way to share with them further information on the culture, history, and politics of New York City.
Pop-Up New York is a fantastic book for children, whether as an introduction to the city or revealing little-known secrets to the kids that have already visited NYC. My kids had a great time lifting the flaps, finding fascinating facts, and discovering surprising secrets. The interactive pop-ups are incredible!
From the Statue of Liberty to Yankee Stadium, the book takes you on a spectacular three-dimensional journey around NYC: you can climb to the top of the Empire State Building, be amazed by the collection at the Met, and take a horse-drawn carriage around Central Park.
