World Kids believes in the power of Arts to transform lives and stimulate multicultural understanding.
This is also the mission of Art in All of Us, a non-profit organization based in Brussels and New York City, that promotes tolerance and cultural exchange throughout all the 192 UN member countries, through art and creativity activities.

The Art in All of Us mission is to inspire children across borders to build a more tolerant world for tomorrow.
They stimulate the creativity and curiosity of children through artistic and interactive activities. By giving them a voice, children are empowered to express their feelings, build their self-esteem, and help create a more positive future.
With Art as their tool, children, and in turn adults, will be able to gain knowledge of cultural similarities and differences and to embrace the “unknown” with tolerance, understanding and curiosity.

Art in all of Us works with children from the ages of 8-12, opening their eyes to new cultures and new ideas.
Photographers Anthony Asael and Stephanie Rabemiafara, from their shared love of art, children, and culture, founded AiA in 2005.  Through leading their workshops in schools and community groups in all 192 UN member countries, they have taught photography and captured the experiences of over 21,000 children as they created poetry anddrawings.
Anthony’s and Stephanie’s photographs, aswell as the artwork created by the children, have been exhibited around the world. And UNICEF showcased their work to commemorate in 2009 the  20th Anniversary of the Convention of the Rigths of the Child at their headquarters in New York City.

Their activity includes different core programs:  Pen Pal Program, World Art Book program, and Awareness Program.
You can collaborate with them by volunteering, and donating.  Also, right now you can make a difference by helping them reach their goal of 50.000 Euros at 99 Smiles. If they reach this amount, they will be able to provide more than 1.6 million creative activities for over 40.000 children. You can also sponsor a school: discover countries, meet children and give them a quality future.

Laughter and happiness should be essential in the lives of all the children.

I am very pleased to introduce you to some of the most amazing SMILE DOCTORS.

Theodora-worldkids.03

They are all professional artists that visit daily children’s hospitals in 8 countries: Switzerland, Bielorrusia, England, Hong Kong, Italy, Turkey, France and Spain.

Their mission is to humanize the process of being in a hospital for small children and teenagers. Their laughter reduces the level of stress of these sweet patients, they improve their quality of life and that they recover more quickly.

theodora-worldkids.04

The Theodora Foundation was created in 1993 by 2 brothers, Jan and André Poulie, who created this Foundation in memory of their beloved mother, who passed away after a long hospital stay.

I have seen these incredible Doctors in action in Spain, where the Foundation has been established since 2000. In these last years, they have brought smiles and laughter to more than 250.000 Spanish children and their families.

You can find more information about their incredible international work and how to collaborate with them on Theodora Foundation

“When we rescue the child, we save the adult”.

The Red Pencil is a charity that brings the power of Arts Therapy to children, adults and families, with a particular attention to those facing overwhelming life circumstances for which they have no words. The Red Pencil transforms their lives through Art Therapy.

Created in 2011 in Singapore, they develop over 50 projects per year, partnering with 55 organizations (The Singapore Red Cross, Doctors without borders, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital to name a few)  and with 6.000 beneficiaries from low income families. They also develop many projects in the Asia Pacific Region, with more that 1.500 beneficiaries. From New Zealand to Japan, from Lebanon to Sri Lanka, from Australia to Cambodia, their work is extraordinary.

The Red Pencil  believes in the healing process of art:

– Children use pencils and colors -before they can speak and write- to express their feelings, thoughts and ideas.

– Words are often inadequate for children to express tough experiences

– Art will give those children an alternative way to channel those emotions.

– Drawing allows all these children to express those sufferings, release, relief and healing.

Please, take just a few minutes to watch the below video about their incredible  work and the great impact that The Red Pencil creates in the live of so many children that are caught in overwhelming situations: natural disasters, conflict zones, long-term illness, human trafficking and abused children.

I really hope you feel touched by their mission.

With a very small donation, for example you can sponsor 1 set of art therapy materials, or 1 hour of art therapy session.

Art is the best social tool to help people rebuild their lives as well as to get the younger generation to express themselves, to fight exclusion and develop their creativity and self-esteem.

I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite charities: Esperanz’Arts, a non-profit association with the goal of making the arts accessible to people that have been excluded from the society. Their profile of talented volunteer musicians, singers, photographs, dancers, painters or actors bring the Arts into schools, hospitals, prisons or homeless shelters.

Esperanz’Arts considers that the Arts should be a right for everyone, and not for just a small percentage of the society that can listen to a classical concert or a theater piece.

I hope you will enjoy this short video in which top violinist Alexandra Soumm, one of the founders of this charity, explains how Esperanz’Arts tries to bring hope and joy to those in need.
